Marble Stirling engine

This is a marble-displacer Stirling engine. The rolling marbles act as the displacer, which are transferred from the hot end to the cold end by the tipping of the test tube. The tipping of the test tube is caused by the piston being connected directly and rigidly to the crank disk and flywheel.

Incredible engine. Where did you get the piston/cylinder set? I know airpot sells them but they are expensive.
how did you seal the piston?
forget to say: good work
Well done
Thanks for the longer Video! That engine is great!!! I’ll have to give one of these a go:O) I like the gears on the flywheel!
its an brilliant engine.can i use glass syringe as a piston.
?? Is the flywheel geared differently from the crank? I guess that makes sense for the marble displacer, you would waste too much power with high speeds and marbles, but it looks weird.
The flywheel is geared 12 to 1. This allows the wheel to rotate at a reasonable speed and the marbles to roll slowly.
Yes, as long as it has a uniform, round bore.
It is a very close fit in the cylinder, close enough to be almost airtight but still slide freely.
Left over from a project at work.
Oh yeah, I can see it when you first spin it. Thx.
if you want to sell your projects that you make and put on youtube, let me help you. i can build websites, and i will start selling parts and complete projects to your viewers. i want to gather a lot of projects with links to the videos etc.
email me.
very good design
nice
pretty design !
it looks pretty good
that video succks i hate that engine
replace the piston you have with a NIB Magnet, rap some generator coils around the cylinder and it will directly generate electricity.
The gearing idea is great!
bellissimo complimenti
what is the piston material you used….
is that steel wool you use??
